Hi ! I am Menny
Hi, I’m Menny Monahan, the brains behind WOW Professional Development! With over two decades of experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge as a Registered Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor certified by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Holding a Master’s Degree in Counselling, my passion for research and interest in Neuroscience deepen my understanding of human behavior and therapeutic practices. This complements my deep love for research and a knack for blending evidence-based practices with real-world wisdom. I’m committed to illuminating the professional paths of counsellors, educators, and beyond, instilling confidence in their craft and helping them to excel in their fields to become the best version of themselves.
If you are looking for a professional bio, you can find that on my LinkedIn profile. Here, however, you’ll find a more personal touch—a glimpse into my soul. Here we go ….

WOW. Where wisdom meets whimsy
The birth of WOW Professional Development marks a special moment in my journey. WOW, which stands for Words of Wisdom, isn’t just an acronym—it’s a tribute to my aspiration to bring the WOW factor to learning and supervision. It’s also a nod to my vintage, as I was born in the groovy 60s – because WOW! And last but not least, it’s a playful homage to the legendary Beatles, great muso’s and incredibly gifted wordsmiths in my humble opinion.

What floats my boat?
I’m dedicated to achieving Post Traumatic Growth as the ultimate goal for my clients. At WOW, we specialise in trauma-informed practice, employing my Hot TIPS (Trauma Informed Practice Strategies) to foster resilience and growth. Our journey goes beyond mere professional development; it’s about infusing every session with evidence-based insights, vibrant energy, and a touch of whimsy.
FUN FACT
I confess that I am prone to the odd catch phrase. These have been defined as ‘Mennyisms’. During my tenure as a School Counsellor, these unique “Mennyisms” became so beloved that students added a dedicated section in the school magazine to showcase them.
